    Someone help me here

I know what you're asking, Poo, and not trying to correct, but just want to be sure my own understanding is close to correct

the fingerlings when stocked are roughly a year old?
Go out to the lake for a couple years, come back as mature 3 year olds?

the first year jacks you mentioned, came back  a year earlier than normal
are closer to two year olds ??

is my understanding close to correct?

    thanks

No clue why you're seeing  more than normal this season .
more common to see them in Pa in the Spring than Fall

Yes, my question of them coming back a year early is still withstanding. Been fishing hard every week since middle of September, and can honestly say I haven't seen this many jacks in at least the last 4 years of me actually acknowledging/studying their habitat.

Hell I caught quite a few last night, that could be questionable at best in legal size for roping. I understand people are always going to complain about something, but this years fish size as of now is either less than 20" or a big respectable fish. There doesn't seem to be that average 24" ish fish around..at least as of yet.

I have heard many comments about people noticing it also. I am by no means there 24/7 to see the fish everywhere to have any formal confirmation, this is just my own out of town, but still drive to fish the tribs twice a week, opinion.

I have even seen, and am guilty of it myself, people leaving spots due to higher number of small sized fish (less than 24") in a run. I equate it to to trying to fish around smolts in the spring.

    Same thing in NY.
There were quite a few of these guys hanging around the shoreline last year.
    Even more this year.
