20 mile access project for DISABLED PEOPLE

http://www.erienewsnow.com/story/33003768/improved-fishing-access-planned-at-twenty-mile-creek Construction is expected to start this fall on a project to improve access for fishermen to Twenty Mile Creek in North East.

The focus is on helping people with disabilities.

Part of the parking lot at the North East Conservation Park will be paved, along with a route from the lot to a new handicapped accessible fishing pier near the mouth of the creek.

Supporters think the area will attract not only fishermen with mobility problems, but all anglers drawn to the area's world class steelhead fishing.

Fish & Boat Commissioner Edward Mascharka said, "I think you are going to get people from all over the world. Steelhead fishermen that fish in our area come from other countries and from all over the United States."

The Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission and North East Township are working together on the project.

The state agency will pay most of the cost, estimated at $130,000. like hank williams Jr would say "its about time!"

Yep  They'll build a handicapped pier, and every non-handicapped person will swarm the thing and a really handicapped person won't even be able to find a place to fish. And I'm speaking from  personal experience.

DITTO on that!! I too have had problems trying to use the handicap piers. Unless law enforcement is right there the young healthy ones will rule.

Why spend all that money on a creek that doesn't get many fish?

Ahh come on guys....no young strong healthy person would ever park in a handicap area just to be closer because their to lazy to walk a few extra steps  !
I've never seen that at the Wal Mart parking lots !
