I fish it in the spring and early summer from the outflow down and do well for the Smallies.  I don't think they have the gate open right now to get down there and the water level is changing day to day this time of the year.  I have seen people using conoes in the summer time there and they put in at the outflow.

Any day with a rod in the water is better than a day at work

There are a few places where you will scrap bottom. Right above the pumping station the water can get low at times. There's about a 100 yard flat section below the pumping station where at the tail out if the water is low your scrap. Have seen the water only a couple deep across the gravel. Right below around the curve is a couple holes, both have rock dams with an opening in the middle. Thet are built like a weir. Watch going through these as there are rocks. Below that I can't help as that is as far as I go downstream.

I live on the creek about a quarter mile above the boy scout camp.  It has its up and down years but fishes better with the higher water.  As far as canoeing you will scrap in the normal flows of the summer.  The bass are generally smaller than the ones in the river but a you will catch a few decent ones.  Muskie are caught on a consistent basis at the outflow as far as the other parts of the creek I see a few a year mostly spring and fall and most are in the lower end of the creeks where you can take a boat through.  Summer time I rarely see any muskie, but i'm sure if you work the stream over hard you can find one or two.  I stick more to the river when the flows are down cause of clear water.  Hope this helps!

No, never fished plum creek.  Got a buddy that lives close and always wants me to give it a try.  I've only heard about the trout fishing in plum, but i'm sure theres muskie and bass cause it dumps into the upper end of crooked creek.  I've fished keystone a few times but was always discouraged by the amount  of pressure from tournaments that it gets, although it is a good fishery, i just try to avoid it.  The river from kelly to kittaning is my main haunts since I keep the boat in the creek.
