I saw pretty much that same scene at the I79 hole on elk, last opening day of stockie season. The hole was literally surrounded as we drove by en route to the bay for perch. I wish I'd have been able to snap a pic.

The second pic is not Walnut Creek. It's a "trout park" in the state of Missouri. I think the first pic is from Missouri also, but not positive.

At Walnut on Saturday, somebody actually lost a stringer with two fish and it was swimming towards me and almost got tangled up with my feet while I was fighting a fish.

If I caught it would that only count as one fish?

chartist With Pulaski NY only 4 hours to your north, why do you folks bother with Erie steelhead? Ā Been there and done that, it's not worth it. Ā
With the Res down 14 feet and no release scheduled, flows shouldn't be up higher than 185. Should be easy pickins for stealth lifting. Only problem is the Lower Petting Zoo is shut down. Does that mean you will havta go (gasp!) somewhere below Altmar Bridge with the "common folk" jus ask'IN jus say'IN?

I always stop to see the Freakshow before heading to water less traveledš Speaking of snagging, any of you guys remember seeing Russians there with there whole families using 50lb line and treble hooks "catching" steelhead snd putting them on little kids stringers? I remember walking thru the parking lot and seeing them dump the fish off in coolers and head back down to the creek. I used to fish walnut all the time when I was really young and the fishing was always so good and not what it is now. There was fishing etiquette, and if you were to fish with the old timers you better understand when someone yelled "fish on, coming up, coming down" to look and make sure you give them a chance to fight and land the fish. I learned so much back then, and I can't thank the old timers enough for giving me a chance and allowing me to squeeze in on they're spots to get a shot at hooking into a fish, or tips on a drift, and giving me a few hot flies for the day. If only it were like it was 14 years ago when I first started steelhead fishing up there

š your killin me! Tis the season! I haven't even made my annual trip up yet, weathers to warm and lawn chairs too abundant for my taste. I'll leave the combat fishing for the Russians and Indians.
