Ball size??

Just got some downriggers and not sure what weight ball to buy?  I've heard 8 lb but any recommendations would be appreciated.

    How deep and how fast are you fishing?

    My recommendations:
    Walleye (1.2-2.4 mph, 10-60' down): 8-10# ball
    Lake Trout (1.5-2.8 mph, 30-200' down): 12-16# ball
    Steelhead (2.5-4.0 mph, 10-80' down); 10-16# ball
