Walleye in Chartiers Creek?

I was doing some bowfishing over the weekend in Chartiers around Canonsburg and watched as a good 16 inch walleye or sauger swim right past me.   I figured they would be there closer to the mouth but not that far upstream. Anyone catch any in numbers in Chartiers? I have also been seeing a ton of smallmouth bass as well.

Also saw a big Koi that someone must have released in there. It was hanging with the carp and was probably in the 8-10 pound range.

Can't say that would surprise me with all the stuff that lands up in that creek. Heck a carp with fangs wouldn't either and its clean compared to when I was a kid. It even runs through the old radioactive field I use to play ball in.

They still have a 10' fence around the one that the creek runs through with them pretty orange signs. Fish Down  there at night no lights required  Come down BT the waters warm.

Would that be between Houston and Canonsburg?

Yes it is. I grew up in that area. We played ball in the one they took the fence down and looks like someone is attempting to build a storage units there. The other side of the road is where we had our football games. A friend had gotten backfill from there years ago and DER or DEA showed up at his house and hauled his driveway cause it was spotted from a satellite!

I wouldn't think walleye or sauger would survive that far up stream. Small mouth however, I hear are plentiful in there below canonsburg.
