How is Fishing on the Kiski River?

I searched the forum and only found posts dating back two years or more. Has anyone been having any luck on the Kiski River? A friend and I were thinking of putting kayaks in around Saltsburg and fishing our way down river for about eight hours or so.

I've caught some fish in the lower reaches, motoring up from the allegheney in my 18' boat. I can't get too far up though. Typical mixed bag of river fish. Smallies, channels, sauger, rock bass, suckers, mooneyes. It's a nice little River.

I fished the Kiski at Saltsburg canoe launch recently. Only a quick 45 minute trip on my way home but got into some smallmouth. Planning on canoeing from Tunnelton to Avonmore in the next couple weeks.
