Bruin in Beaver county.

At 5:30 PM a bear walked through my yard and crossed a two.lane road stopping traffic. The neighbors thought is was a monster by I'd say about 125-150 young lanky looking male. Nice to see him.

Always exciting to see a bear, unless I was in my big truck and the bear was in my mirrors (), Tuna.

I had a young one prancing around in my back yard last fall but ain't seen it since.  Still walk around in the woods a little more cautious now days.

Every time I went to the cabin in Elk county I'd have the pleasure of seeing at least one bear but in seven years never during bear season! Always figured the GC relocated them for those 3 days or they were in a motel somewhere while I froze my backside off in the woods!

I yelled at a young juvenile last week to get away from my wife's new bird feeder.  Strolled out of the woods and made a beeline right for it.  Funny to watch them run off.  Last month my dogs shot out the dog door and chased a sow and 2 cubs back into the woods.  Thank gawd for invisible fencing.  And judging by the size of the prints in my woods, none of these bears compare to the big male that must be out there.  Starting to see why the PGC extended bear season into buck week this year in 1B.  Seen more bear on my property in the past 3 months than I've seen out here in 20 years.

Buddy of mine has been getting consistent trail cam pictures of bears in Washington County. They are moving into the SW more and more.

If that's the case I'm heading to Lowe's to buy a bunch of bird feeders my dream has always been to see a bear in my backyard!

Walleye, just to update my post from yesterday, the bear got my wife's new feeder last night, lol.  I was impressed, completely in tact and about 40 yards from it's post.  I don't know how he got all the feed out without any damage to the feeder unless he just dumped it out and ate it off the ground.  And speaking of dumps, he took a huge one in my yard.  Must have been all that fiber.  I knew something was up as my pitt was doing everything he could to get me up.  Wasn't going to let him out though.  Made that mistake before only to have him come back skunk sprayed.  Will sacrifice a feeder any day.

Jigs load those feeders up with Thistle seed. If there' a bear in the area that winds those, you'll know it. Meanwhile, enjoy the Finches that love Thistle seed.

Also, ratchet-jawed with Canadian drivers while trailer-trucking Canada and they would talk of baiting bear with bacon fat.

I actually woke up one morning to find a 26yr old water proofing his boots with the grease from the bacon he'd  made for breakfast! He's excuse was grease repellent water! He did become Leary when I suggested honey for bug repellent. This is the truth but to be fair I made him wear my spare boots!

Two weeks ago had a young bear go through our neighborhood.  Friends of ours on the upper street saw it cross the road and go towards the school. I live about a mile from the Irwin T-pike interchange.  Definitely more out there in SWPA.
