I now have a better outlook for trout stocking programs and I now have a better outlook for another stock program too.  Buying stock in Powerbait, Zebco and , Eagle Claw; keep dumping them trout into the water boyz,  BTDT is on his way to e-trade.

wonder what power bait has to do with gut hooking a trout. haha band power bait lol.. anything you let it sit on the bottom a trout pretty much just swallows it. its up to the angler not to let a trout swallow it.

Thinking the stereotype on powerbait that your talking about is that a lot of people use it cause it works great for trout and yes the trout crush it. IMO But can i blame it all on the power bait no. Been catching these small trout my whole life and right now i dont even care to fish for them cause all they do is swallow the hooks. I use worms, meal worms let sit for a minute or two get a bite i hook and swallowed. I even get to a point of of holding the rod and the slightest bump i pull. Used all hooks to including circle and swallowed. The good ways to help not get swallowed , barbless hooks easier to pull out when swallowed, using a bobbin, or a bigger hook like size 6 2x long shank. But thats all up to the angler.

meatball took it way to serious i know what you meant about powerbait and your wrong.lol its the lazy fisherman that does not want to walk more then 20 yards from his truck to fish and throws giant globs of powerbait on his hook so much so that he cant have a chance of setting the hook untill its coming out of the fishes**** lol, use what works and if you still cant catch a fish ask that old guy joe who fishes the upper lake at twin all the time who gives away 10 fish everyday of his life while leaving one sit on his stringer.that really makes me mad how this guy catches his limit 3 times over everyday and all the fish end up dead he doesnt care that we have limits in place for a reason. as many fish as he gives away everyday could be thrown back in the water for someone to catch another day if he isnt gut hooking them with garlic powerbait.lol
