springtime eyes

Going to be doing some river fishing for walleyes before it goes out on the 14 of march prob. somewhere around the 8th or 9th of march. What does everybody use this time of year for river walleyes. Ill be fishing the shenango river. If anyone knows where to leeches close to sharon that would be great.

"Berkley Gulp Alive" leeches work well & you don't have to deal with live leeches.

Was looking at gulp leeches on cabelas website and was wondering does the stuff that comes in the pack work as good as the alive stuff.

Went down to cabelas yesterday and got some gulp leeches in the pack. Now if only I could get to the river I'll let you know.

The Gulp in the pack isn't the same as the "Alive" Gulp. The ones in packs can't be put back in the pack after use, it messes up the whole pack. The "Alive" buckets have a liquid in them & are made to put back in the bucket to rejuvinate the bait with scent. They are pricey, but you can catch multiple fish on the same leech(sometimes) & it doesn't require the care that live bait does.

you can chunk a walker sinker and a floating jig head to keep off the bottom this is deadly this time of year a minne or a leach fish will hug the bottom now to keep a ambush tact depth no more than 15ft of water no less than 3ft good luck just a thought females can go back  to make more little ones just a thought youll see the difference fat belly

Messes up the whole pack because they are biodegradable & the rest of the pack will start to degrade when a used one is put back in. I experienced this the hard way & ruined the rest of the pack.

I'm going to try to make it up to pymy in the next couple weeks. If not then I'll just wait till after the first day of trout and go down  the river, shenango that is.
