Twin lakes

Just came back from a ride to both lakes,both almost completely covered with approx. 1" of ice. The sun didn't seem to melt much. I doubt that it will open much by this week-end unless we get enough rain .  sam

    Just came back from the upper lake,very little open water,mostly on the Pines side. Some Trout caught.  sam

    Sunday afternoon the lower lake was mostly open, some skim ice hanging on near the boardwalk and along the wooded side of the lake. Upper lake was a out 50 percent open. Should refreeze this week but it's gonna be a while before we get safe ice around here.

    if the temps stay on the cold side and we get some rain the ice could be safe enough by the end of next weekend.

    As of Saturday afternoon the Upper Lake was about half open water, there was a very thin layer of slushy looking ice covering the shallow upper end of the lake.  The Lower Lake was about 90 percent iced over, ice looked very thin though with lots of water on top.  Next couple days look pretty cold then the temps go up again.  Might not get any safe ice at Twin this year.
