I have this one and I love it, now I haven't done much steelhead fishing with it since I mostly fly fish for them, but it has caught a few and a ton of nice carp.

st croix triumph 9 foot light action ... absolutley love it... has a decently long handle too.... i also fish a 10,6 st croix wild river cant remember the action but its rated 6-12 lb line so i think its light action...but its a bit long for the erie tribs so i stick to a nine footer for erie....

also i seen that poor richards makes a noodle rod now.... lifetime warranty might not be  a bad gig...i held the pole in my hand seemed pretty good... only complaint is i dont like the metal guides i like the "fiji" guides or whatever they are that are on st croixs.....

either you cant go wrong with a 9 footer... any of the big names that have a decent warranty.. i prefer light action (4-8) lb line rating
