What more do you want???!
From the reports page: "Caught fish in many holes this morning all on egg patterns. Water was near perfect but maybe not as many fish as I expected still managed 15 to hand. Lets hope for more rain. Tight lines."
You caught 15 fish and who knows how many hookups...were u expecting triple digits?!

Caught 249 fish today and lost about 503. Great day on the water! Don't listen to the reports!!! So much action I had to stop mid-fishing and tie new flies.

oLD duD I think the decline in numbers was a little later. probably '08. Whatever year it was, your right, the first year the numbers went down a little was awesome, tones of big fish that year. Seemed like I caught 3 or 4 - 10+lbers every time out. It's hard to find a fish over 8lbs this fall.

My first time i came up was 1999, but I didn't really get into it until 2004 or 05. In 99 I was at walnut circus and the fish were so thick they were hitting me in the legs while I stood in the water. Backs out of the water they were stacked so heavy at Manchester. I snagged a feesh cause I didn't know howta katchem. I had an ultralight trout pole, tiny reel and some little Cleo's. I reasoned that "I drove tuu haarhs upere, imma fight a fish!
Since then I've evolved into a much more dignified snaggr.

First trip was around 1972. Three of us went up to Walnut at first light tossing Cleos off the wall. Could not believe there were about 10 guys fishing while it was still dark and windy as hell. I got lucky and hooked a Coho that fought fantastic . It made everybody's day, especially mine ,since it was the only one caught that morning. I was hooked or should I say I caught the "Fever" ! Yea I'm that old !

Captain, I remember those days when I'd make it home on leave in the fall ('73 and '74), and my bro was up from Pittsburgh. Had no idea what we were doing but I do recall standing in that water in the dark getting beat by the wind and waves. If I remember correctly we were throwing C P Swings at them. Wish I could remember what else we used.

Your right back in those days and even years later nobody knew what we were doing . Most people today don't know but most of our fishing techniques we learned and use even today all came from the West Coast fishermen. Everybody tossed lures , spoons , spinners for years . Egg sacs, skein, singe eggs , stuff like that didn't evolve till years later. Fly fishing was even more rarer. There was a magazine called "Great Lakes Fishing" that copied or printed articles from West Coast fishing and that's how we learned all the different techniques to Coho and Steelhead fishing. Of course today a lot of these methods have been improved and fine tuned but still they all originated from the North Western Streams .

I was fishing by the 2nd waterfall near the lake. Tons of fish stacked up. People were yelling at me. I thought they were cheering me on the whole time. Everyone was fishing the lake and not the creek for some reason....

Fished 20m today. Flow a lil fast, but perfect color. Went 2 of 3. Ended at trout run and a lil before dust went 4 of 6.
Tomorrow, I'll be using a kite to troll the shores of erie. 50mph gusts should put me at the right speed to slay the steelies.
