Be safe out there guys.  Small craft mandatory vests aren't for another couple days, but it isn't worth dying for.  I don't wear my vest, but I'm on a fenced in 160 sq foot floating living room.  At night in a canoe/kayak you are insane to not have a vest on.  
 
Here's hoping the guy just got a bit too drunk/high on the shore somewhere and just wandered home.  But that's not very likely.  :(

    this is pretty sad news, hopefully they find him alive.
