What do you do with the fish after you kill them?

This.

I'm not even sure what you'd be allowed to shoot (or ethically should) around here, carp maybe? But they don't taste good so what's the point unless you're using them for cutbait for catfish or drum.

We'd better hope that day never comes... Skip the bow and break out the shotgun!

Bowfishing gar in Pennsylvania is illegal.  P.I.B. is home to probably the last remaining population of Spotted Gar (a PA Endangered Species) in the state.  You can only shoot carp, catfish and suckers here.  Same goes for spearing and gigging.

This is the regulation, available online and in the PA Fish and Boat Commission summary book that comes with every fishing license: BOW AND ARROW (including compound bows and crossbows) may be used for taking ONLY carp, suckers and catfish on all Commonwealth waters, day or night, except in  during the closed season and in .

SPEARS OR GIGS – Spears or gigs may be used to take ONLY carp, suckers and catfish. Spears or gigs may not be mechanically propelled, may not have more than five barbed points and may not be used in .

Not all of the reg. appeared.  I'll try again:

SPEARS OR GIGS – Spears or gigs may be used to take ONLY carp, suckers and catfish. Spears or gigs may not be mechanically propelled, may not have more than five barbed points and may not be used in approved trout waters.

BOW AND ARROW (including compound bows and crossbows) may be used for taking ONLY carp, suckers and catfish on all Commonwealth waters, day or night, except in approved trout waters during the closed season and in special regulation waters.
