You're thought are headed in the right direction! The lake has been dead for the last couple of years. The county has no interest in it and with no trout neither does the fish commission. Some say its the gas people I believe some of it is, some because no one has been there to enforce the rules and any money that does go into the lake is for the speaical interest people not fishermen.

It's certainly not the dead sea...been there a few times last couple weeks...lake is loaded with fish...the county not caring? Not caring about what? do you want them to catch and load them in your cooler? They are doing a great job...(although that trail plan bothers me but who cares about me it's not just "my" lake) the commission not bothering fisherman like they did in the eighties?...good...that was an annoyance...They have done a great job as well to make sure we have fish to catch. Make sure we can launch or fish and leave us alone...Geez eppy I thought you loved Dutch Fork this place is as easy as it gets....this lake has way more fish than dutch fork ever had...very fertile and well populated. AND, more diverse. Yeah, no tiger muskies or trout but, you ever catch a tiger at dutch fork? I doubt it if youre complaining this lake is the dead sea. I'll be glad to meet you and show you some productive spots no kidding I remember old posts from you

In my experience, people who claim a lake is a "dead sea" are either misrepresenting the lake so people don't fish there, or fish one way for one species in one spot and claim the whole lake is dead when they don't catch fish. Pro tip: EVERY LAKE FISHES DIFFERENTLY. That is a fact. Spend some time learning the ways that are working on different species at different times of the year and become a better angler.

Wonder how many fish are in those trucks going pass my house on Rt 50? I'm not saying the gas people are responsible for the problems at the lake but there has been a definite change since they showed up, 24/7

No clue about cross creek but with this warmer weather the bass should be more active, and they are going to want to get fat so I would try some bigger baits, would be what I would throw if I was going

Attachments are not available: Download requirements not met Last Bass I caught at Cross Creek , 11/7/15 Only one I caught that day. (18") I usually only catch a couple of bass each trip. (sometimes none, as in December) I go each weekend, This will be one of the few weekends I won't. You have to work for every bass it seems.

Fished it with a friend sunday 12/13 ..caught quite a few bass...saw very few other boats..two other guys we saw hookin up pretty good too in a certain area we caught some...saw a couple major crappie schools on flasher...lost a real hawg saugeye or walleye at boat...that lake is no different than any other pounded local lake...fish smart, they probably seen it all...two of the many nice fish we caught had hook marks...shoreline bass lure tossers are usually the guys complaining that local drilling ruined the lake...I saw what was shown to me all day on my boat mounted vex and what we caught and missed, they are there...I still believe the lake needs thinned out a little more A great side note...plenty of small baitfish peppered the surface in certain areas...clouds of them

Plenty of people icefish there although it takes longer than other lakes in the region to get safe ice. Almost exclusively catch lots of bluegills in the 7-8" range. Can never find the crappies i catch in open water but almost everyone fishes the same area. I hope to try other parts of the lake if we ever get good ice again.

Yea doesnt look like a good winter for ice fishing, but if we ever do get safe ice i planned on hitting cross creek. Was gonna try and hit near the new launch/ dock they put in this year. Did well there in open water on crappie, bass and a stray walleye.

Only checked M/C arm & she is frozen over. No ice fishermen out though. Most birds prob. go to creeks or river to roost when not feedin' round this way. Merry New Year! crappy
