Top waters for Bass

I've been trying different top waters this year for bass. I have done really well recently with the Heddon Torpedo 3/8 oz. and the Rebel Pop-r. These to my surprise for a relatively inexpensive lure have proven to be the best bang for the buck. What do you guys use for top waters generally. Not trying to steal secrets just comparing. I have used quite a few more but narrowed it down to those two.

Depends what I'm fishing. In weeds nothing beats a weedwalker or mossboss

    I second the Pop-r. Sometimes get a 2-pack for $5-6

Jitterbugs! But they are not weed friendly.

I fish a lot of weedy ponds so I use frogs, hollow body and rubber frogs both equally.

Jitterbugs and Torpedos work well for me over open water.

Nothing like the sound of a big ole bass busting the water for a top water bait.

Jitterbugs. Also rig a yum money minnow or other swimbait weedless and run across lilly pads or weeds. Explosive strikes and seems to get attention from the biggest bass around.

Always just use the standard Rebel Pop'r, great lures but the hooks are absolute garbage.

Ryan,I always touch up my hooks when I tie any plug on,also I put a split ring on all my lures,it seems to help the walk the dog retrieve. Also if it is really windy & I keep getting tangled with the hooks,I take the front hook off, I really don't think that I lose many by doing this, but since I don't fish tournaments it doesn't matter since I throw almost all Bass back.   sam
