8wt 10ft Fly Rod for kings/coho

Hey guys. I'm in the market for a 8wt 10ft fly rod for the salmon river. Looking to spend under $200 to pair with my Lamson reel. I have a TFO 10' 7wt and love it, but the closest they make is a 9'6" for 8wt. I did some searching and not many companies make a 10ft rod under that price. What do you guys use? Thanks

I know pafisher has one and likes it very well. If he says they are worthy then take that to the bank

Yes I have the 11' ,8 wt switch that I use there for Salmon and also for Steel on other streams.Go to their site and shop around for what you want....all are under $200!
I snapped mine last season by being stupid on a snagged rock.Called Skip from the river and he sent me to Fat Nancy's for a replacement and was back on the river in a hour. The replacement was $25 I believe as I told him the rod broke because of me not the rod.Up to that point it was put to the test on many Kings. They're great rods for the money and are all you need for Salmon or Steel.

Hard to find the 10' for an 8  under 300, let alone 2.  St. Croix Imperial are great, but 280. The 11 isn't bad for the extra line management. Just break it down walking, and learn to roll cast a little more sidearm. I do it all the time under the trees.

I never heard of Shu-Fly but hard to beat for the price & warrenty. The 10' looks pretty appealing. The full website isn't loading from my work pc so I'll have to look more in depth later. Thanks for the recommendations!

Have a Cabela 8 wt 11 ft switch for Steel and Kings--love it-have a Lamson 3.5 on it.
Lowest price is about $250 for the rod.

If you go to classic steelhead in the drop down menu , you will find a single handed 10' 8wt rod  @$175...
I thought about ordering the switch rod that Jack (pafisher) has but realized I have far to many rods already ..
Personally I think shu fly rods are a great deal custom made from a company that specializes for the great lake tribs with a good warranty. Having a dealer right in town even makes it better as Jack has experienced..
    Good luck and good fishing

I bought a Mystic Reaper in 8wt , 10 foot, when my sage broke a couple years ago....Got it from Fat Nancy's....It has a lot of backbone for tossing heavy rigs..I actually like it better than my Sage One....I think I paid $250...I am taking it to Florida in a month.

Winner winner chicken dinner. Tossing heavy rigs with a 1/0 hook, sounds like a classic " hooker "
When fishing for salmon I use very little if any weight other then a bead chain eye on a comet .. Swing above the fish and let them rise to your fly instead of bowling for them .
    Just my style

I usually choose  rods to cast to salmon, not for  "tossing heavy rigs". Might look at those rods as good for illegal lifting. The classic white Shakespeare Wonderod is lots cheaper and just as effective for that method. But so is a broom. Getting a perfectly loaded cast that snaps across the river and begins a good swing after a mend. The fly dances in the upper mid column and enrages a salmon. Fish ON!  That's what makes it all worth it. Not sticking a fish in the side or ripping a line into its mouth.
Good luck with the new stick, SCA.

Surprised we didn't hear about the 1000.00 rod and all the money he bestows upon Pulaski when he graces it with his presence after his long trip from Ohio. Hopefully the time comes he gets a nice public intoxication fine or something else and then hw can make a nice donation to the local government.
