I would think birds transport 'em locally more than any creature including man.

iirc rusty crayfish are native to the western drainages but have been transplanted into the susquehanna which is killing the smallmouth there

im assuming these rules are so strict bc no one was following the old new crayfish rules, so if it gets bass back up in one of the premier fisheries in the nation, im for it

meanwhile, if youre really upset you cant take crayfish from one river to the next

My advice is get over it & buy a pack of tubes

Not against the prevention of spreading non-native species.  Just the reason the PFBC gave for the 'zero tolerance' law.  Even more upsetting is the gullible people willing to accept whatever 'BS' that's thrown at them; as long as the BS doesn't step on their toes.  As for the bass kill off in the Susquehanna; I've heard everything from, "fish fry's by local sportsmen's clubs" to, "residue created from birth control and/or other meds." as being reasons for the reduction of Bass.  These stories and many more like them, including the "invasion of the Rusty Crabs" was reported in the magazine "PA. Out Door News" years ago!  Last I knew the articles could be researched on line at www.PAoutdoornews.com.

By the way; the magazine is quite informative and is geared directly toward PA. hunting and fishing.  Until, they get on the "climate change, global warming" kick which, just may be of interest to the 'gullible'.

I just ask; to please stop blowing smoke, in order to pass laws that placates to special interest groups.

Gosh.... I feel so much better now.(LOL)

Yea tbh it probably has more to do with eutrophication messing up the bass, but those crayfish are definitely not helping

But lets take on the PA farming industry or take on a bunch of live bait fisherman hmmmm lol

Maybe the hypertrophication from "birth control pills" along with "Blue Ointment", will kill all those nasty crabs wata-ya-think?

As for the cow poop controversy, if the EPA (Ending Present day America Assoc.) could clean up the flow of "BS" coming from politicians and bureaucrats I am pretty sure, things would get green. (green as in, more money in my pocket)

Wirenut...............  How could you forget the crystal clear waters since the MONSTER ZEBRA MUSSELS came to town.  Correct me if I'm mistaken but, weren't these vicious creatures going to devastate the fishery by eating all the "fish eggs"?

I'm fairly sure the only invasive animal that will destroy an area that nature sometimes cannot rebound from or heal it's self from walks on two feet and claims to know what's best for the entire earth. If my memory isn't completely gone I think its called MAN! I don't understand how this rock survived before we got here!

Well hold onto your hat guys..............  I hear "acid rain" isn't outa the mix yet!  You remember; that's the stuff, responsible for eating the paint off of your car.

Wirenut, I do hope you sanitize your boat, live wells, bilge and trailer before roaming around all of the lakes and rivers.  Not sure if you fish the smaller streams but, if you do, don't forget to scrub your waders (or feet) before moving on.  Unless it's the same waters of course and, don't forget your sun screen lotion.

Walleye jigs, I don't promote the alteration or destruction to any environment and I hear where your coming from.  However, Mother Nature has proven on many occasions, at her leisure, she does recover.

The people that "cry wolf" to further their personal agendas (politicians included) will be the downfall of the environment.

You mean the 'gloom and doomers' were once again falsifying information. To think....... I trusted them.

Thanks rayman.

Walcat I'm just wondering; if these turtles are from China, might they come ready to 'stir-fry'?  Can ya just flip em upside down on the fire and cook them in their pre-attached 'wok'?
