deer cam batteries

I have a wildgame cam that I set over a mock scrape and put brand new rayovac batteries in it.. usually have good success with them but they died after a day and a half.. what's everyone using out there?

I have not found ANY battery that lasts very long in my wildgame camera, especially if I get night time photos...

the new Moultrie, on the other hand, still has the same batteries I put in when I bought in and set it up on AUGUST 1st....
well over a two thousand photos on those batteries and the 25% light is still not on .....

That question will get you a lot of opinions.

Try this web sight 'TrailCamPro.com' I think you'll find the sight interesting and informative. Their studies include batteries, different cam mfg., cam set-ups, cam location, etc.

I have a Moultrie 880. Same batteries all season. Over 5000 pictures per season. I never like any wild game products, cheaply made.

The A-8 continues in the Moultrie tradition of constant improvement in the trail camera industry through innovative features and quality products that guarantee to improve a hunter’s scouting abilities season after season. The A-8 offers an expanse of power via four C-Cell alkaline batteries that are capable of capturing 25,000 vibrant images. Photos can be stored on a massive 32 GB SD card contributing unmatched memory and performance.
    INVISIBILITY
Equipped with Moultrie’s advanced 50-foot LOW-GLOW infrared flash technology and powerfully hidden by Mossy Oak® Bottomland camouflage, the A-8 is nearly invisible, detecting any and all prey within 50 feet, day or night, and still providing the high-quality imagery that today’s game manager needs.
The A-8 incorporates Mossy Oak® Bottomlands Camouflage, an improvement from its little brother, the A-5. The animals on next year’s hit list will need to work in order to detect this valuable scouting device. An integrated strap loop creates effortless setup when dealing with the difficulties of finding just the right spot to place a scouting camera.

TrailCamPro.com or check em out on YouTube. They test all the cameras and publish the results. Great suggestions on set-ups and placement. Worth your time if you enjoy game cameras.

How is this camera doing for you?  I just purchased one last week and was wondering how it performs.
