Update
I'm in a heck of a quandary . Some pretty major ( work ) stuff needs to happen here in the next week and 2 days. Going to the river as planned will put a big crimp in what needs to happen and any rain on fri/ sat would be devastating for the roof job that I also have planned. Seriously , the only reason I wish to go is to hang out with fellow USA ers and net Jack' s fish .. Lol.
Question : Is the fishing ( I know , a bad day fishing is better then working but.. ) even worth going up for a day , Sunday , if it don't rain prior ? The thoughts of crowds, beat fish and lack of have me thinking .. Also is there any chance you Jack and other members may return later for a better day ? Thanks

I will be up sooner and later. The fishing is tough to say the least. If a push doesn't come in I would go with the other priorities. I'll be up either way.

Thanks 2 bob, I'm not writing it off but the light is still at the very far end of the tunnel . Some day I will post all the things that have transpired here in the last few months , contract negotiations put me WAY behind .

Clint and I were talking today saying we hoped you could make it. Looking forward to the getting together more than the fishing. All that said. Life comes first and you got to do what's best for you. Hopefully all can be arranged for a later date . Perhaps steelfish will be in the mix then.

Happy wife=Happy life. I'm battling a nasty upper respiratory infection so I'm not going anywhere this week.

I am with TB it is pretty beat as far as numbers of folks and fishing. Do what you have to do. The river will be here and hopefully we will be too. Unless that push came today or tomorrow those fish will be pretty low down too. Today was like a weekend as far as numbers, I am sure there are plenty of spots with less people, but less fish too. Family first man.

Rich I won't be back until mid day Sunday. As far as the fishing in general it has been a tough bite and the stream is crowded.I would love to see you but if those projects are needing to get done you might want to get it done and we'll look for another time to share a drift.

I've had things come up here that are likely to keep me off the river until the following weekend, and based on the numbers story, I may not hit the SR until November, although it sounds like there are a pretty good bunch of steelies coming in with the few salmon. Of course we've got a lot of water close to home that starts to turn on Friday and Saturday if the weather man is correct. As today would have been the first job free day if my plans had worked out, I am not happy with all the work required travel I have coming up, but I am resolved to be out by next year. L13

OK hadda change the 'will be there' post. 600 miles round trip only to make a quick turnaround is tough on the wallet and old bones but was happy to do it- till seeing its gonna rain- Sat- Sun and Mon. Heck cant get anything done at my place or even some decent fishing on a crowded weekend- As I am coming up for several days from Tues on anyway with the Wife that's gotta be my only trip right now.. Gonna miss seeing folks.- had looked forward on it.

I probably will be out for fishing, but if there is anything going on after hours so to speak I can run up.

Here's a update on my trip this week as I am home now for two days then back up Sun thru Fri. We arrived mid day Sunday to very warm weather so we fooled around until 3:30 or so and then looked in the UFZ.Walked and fished a bit and caught a small brown and even smaller smallmouth. Monday went to the LFZ and played with about 7 -8 fish for the day. Tuesday is a blur and I don't really remember what we did....the golden years! Wed went to the UFZ and after walking in,crossing the river and getting to where we wanted to go, I caught a 7" rainbow on the first cast, then made a couple drifts before I got stuck on a big rock.I started yanking on the thing and working close in the current,I then yanked some more and got closer (too close) and bent my rod way too much and then.....SNAP.......my 4 piece rod became a 5 piece rod!So now I walk back to the truck, drive back to the room, call ShuFly rod Co. and they sent me to Fat Nancy's for a new rod for a $50 fee. Can't complain about that!By the time that got done it's pushing noon! After that we went to the LFZ for a couple hours and I played with a King. Today we hit the LFZ and I decided to try for the Steel as the Kings were not in the mood.Went to 6# flora and a #10 nympth.Fished some fast water and landed one nice steel and lost 4 more.By 10:30 we were headed back to the room to check out and hit the road.
