License
I heard a rumor that licenses purchased between 10/1 and 1/31 of the 2013-2014 season would be good until the end of January. THIS IS NOT TRUE ACCORDING TO THE DEC WEBITE. http://www.dec.ny.gov/permits/6091.htmlIf you, like most serious anglers, bought your license early in the old "year" and paid the higher price for your license, you ate the fee reduction awarded to the late comers who bought after February, no extension for you. So remember to buy the new one on Wednesday, if you can find an agent selling them with a computer that is working (Many reported SANFU's with the new and improved centralized NYS System, what else is new!). And please remember this additional affront from Governor Caesar when you go to the polls on election day! L13

Also remember that most if not all of the hunting licenses are shut down in this county. Got that from 2 places I visited. You can get it on line, but will have to wait 16 days for delivery. Pretty sure you can print out the fishing portion, but have to wait for your hunting tags. It is due to a paper issue. The paper is curling so bad it will not feed in the printer and ink is not sticking to it.

Don't blame ya Clint . I was worried when I had my Kevlar plate and 11 screws put into my collar bone a few aug' s ago. Still not the same for using a bow anymore so I'm glad about the crossbow regs now.

There was a price rollback signed into law last year. Cuomo's attempt to smooth over ruffled feathers from his Safe Act.

I'm a resident so off top of my head I don't know. I know it was reduced so $50.00 sounds about right. I just fork over the C-note for my hunting and fishing tags every year

I've said this before but I am so glad I purchased my lifetime license (Sportsman, Bow Stamp & Muzzleloader) over twenty years ago. Plus it's good for the rest of my life even if I become a POS out of stater. LOL

Thanks guys...The $50 isnt my issue...I wanted to make sure I was doing the right thing for the licence - my luck - I'd screw it up in some fashion - and end up getting pinched... tb21 POS out of stater? for real? But - after what I witnessed last year - I would have to agree with you.

Hahhh! Pos outtastater!!! Kinda a running joke we've got going on here. Its been determined on these boards that pos's come from all states including NY... I assume tb is just making an inside joke Wilbur. I've got to renew mine and I think my son and I are gonna throw down on the derby for this Saturday as well. Why not??? With all the lousy reports dsr has been getting we might just get lucky and get some open water this Saturday...

The river is full to capacity with fishermen. Elbows to atsholes everywhere. Must suck to have taken vacation time now. Seems like everyone decided to come up even with the lousy catching

Some have to reserve vacation time as much as a year in advance- pretty much the same for Pulaski room reservations- most folks have to lock in early and hope the fish cooperate. Hey -in regard to DSR being sold out. Heard a rumor that the future DSR may be like a private golf course- full time members only, no day passes. Of course rumors abound up there and DSR is a common target.

Wilbur_83-It was sarcasm. I honestly couldn't care where you are from. R3G3-It wouldn't surprise me if DSR became an exclusive club for the rich & shameless. All that is missing is a five star hotel (or condos) & restaurant, heliport, golf course and spa.

I have never seen so many people in the LFZ at this time other years,it is very crowded and I venture to guess the majority of the fish hooked are foul hooked.Today I managed to get one player on and that was the only hit I had.

There are a few good players out there. I netted a fish for a guy and the bugger was hooked on the roof of the mouth, had to reach in to get it.

Doubtful there could be any more. Every fish report from every shop is saying pretty much that same thing.
