While I have never seen the movie I can relate to the clip, I am starting to feel it, in many ways.
Cool pics but signs, signs , they are pretty ones but cripes , I bet we have over 100 various stupid signs on the 1/4 mile entrance to my work Nobody even knows what they say or mean until someone decides they wish to. My point, signs are worthless , common sense is priceless

The sign itself is an eyesore. A plain littering =1,ooo bucks along with a few busts might be more appropriate. I predict some gang tags will get sprayed on the new signs.

Was looking off the town pool bridge yesterday and it must be a coincidence, but the back eddy against the west bank on the upstream side was full of frothy garbage backwash... All summer long not a piece of trash... But now full of garbage...

Another long day but I finally reached the light at the end of my tunnel :) hell YEA !!! So, why is it that a highly popularized stream such as the Ausable river in the adk's , which on average receives as much if not more angling pressure ( over a period ) has FAR less trash or issues then a shorter salmon season. It's a mentality thing all around that bugs me about the invaders of pulaska

It is a mentality thing. If your gonna snag and know it's wrong, why not throw trash all over too. I have said it before people use the river as an excuse for partying and doing things they cannot, would not , should not do at home. Like Charlie said in a previous post, it's a manly, bonding, rite of passage thing. The folks I encountered yesterday were stereotypical, HUGE REEL with braid and a 5 foot uglystick. Now everyone knows that fly poles can snag too, but when you see a pole like that you know there is no intent whatsoever to even try go at it the right way.

Remember those nitwits from Pa that used to park up by the old trail down to the sycamore that were filleting the fish and throwing the guts back into the ragweed. When we said, "What about the stench, their answer was "we're out of here today, what do we care."" Of course, when they got back the next year, that spot was posted, and they had to find another place to trash. Everybody is ENTITLED in modern America, which is why we are so well loved in the rest of the world. And actually handing out all those tickets would be bad for business! Oh, and there are suckers like us that will clean their crap up every year, down here in RACHACHA we are actually responsible for cleaning it up off the streets in front of our property, but no one ever gets hassled for throwing it there. The big reel is compensation for something else that is infinitely small.... L13

7 on is a good morning 2b. Good job. Between folks walking and driving aimlessly with tunnel vision, making their own parking spots, nonrefundable beer cans littered about and drunk morons in the grocery stores.... Yeah its silly season :)
Did see quite a few in the hatchery but mostly males which is usually pretty typical for early showers. Most of the kings I saw in the hatchery were unclipped also. Quite a few coho. The event they had was pretty nice for the kids. A lot of people showex

DSR reported a small pod this AM-their honesty in reporting in this unusual year is refreshing albeit not what we want to hear, but HONEST -congrats to them- Can recall when SR reports across the board were always GREAT - no matter how it really was. Would think that for a decent picture of the season thus far go to the DSR reports and read the past week or so. NO- am not a customer over the past several years or a DSR rep in any way- just really appreciate their candor.

They definitely have gotten better at reporting. I think it was wise for them to stop up to the minute reports and report on the day as a whole. Fred to mike to Connie had a good system though. The Daily hotline that seemed so redundant yet with simple words they really let you know what was going on in that simple report

Don't know if I saved the day, but it was fun. I had one pull at sunrise, that probably was an arse hook. This one and two more. Netted a fish for a guy and he gave me a fly. Tried it out and got a good hit, needless to say I should of changed the leader after the above because it broke, knew it was rough ,but was too lazy. got my hits after I switched to 6#test (drennan) was at 10# before with little luck.

Look out boyz, DEC is here in FULL force. There was about 20 trucks across from the hatchery today and lots of osiferz milling around, problem is they were still there an hour or so later when I came back through. On the river would be better.

I had a similar catch on a baby unicorn in the UFZ. They are incredibly aggressive. If the parking was lost in the Church lot, some of the jerks probably wouldn't want to walk up that far. I hope they got some donations, I know Nancy and I were generous. Thanks for the litter patrol. APPRECIATE AND BE GRATEFUL OH YE OF LOW MORALS AND ETHICS.

We left some cake in the box. Hope the pastor gets to it before the meth heads! My find for the day was a large aluminum sign that said "restricted, no admission beyond this point" or something like that. It was back along a side trail behind the upper part of LFZ north (right) bank, about 100' DS from the wire. I carried it back up to the other side of the wire, but no further. Considering the number of places yesterday where I found where someone had defecated in the middle of a trail, not back in the woods and then cover the cat hole, I think it is getting to the point where a background check should be required for the purchase of a fly rod, and you ought to have to take a course to get a fishing license. I've been through popular parts of the 'Daks and seen less spoor left around. L13

The sign must of come off the wire during the high water. When I saw you over there carrying it I was like what the hell are those guys doing, making a bridge or bench out of something. I picked up all the line and the bit of trash at my feet in that cove.

I should have tied a strong piece of line to the sign and then tied it to the wire and let it hang about 100' downstream along the roots. I know it would have made TB happy if he was on the other side, he was more than willing to volunteer to have me wade across and go stand in the roots to push all that steel toward the other side of the river!
