Loyalhanna or Yough Dam?

I've fished for Walleye for 30 years at the Yough Dam. For me the quantity and quality of the Walleye are declining. I know the fish commission stocks fingerling but I do not think the Walleye are capable of reproducing. I never fished Loyalhanna and would like to start. Both lakes are about the same distance for me to travel. Just wanted some input on the Loyalhanna as a Walleye lake to start fishing at. Don't what no spots or tricks,I'll do that much:). Thanks all ! Jay

There are no Walleye in Loyalhanna Lake. They can be caught from the dam outflow as they swim up from the Kiski River.

Thanks! I swore I heard people talking about Walleye in the Lake. Must have been in the overflowi like you said.

yeah I caught lots of walleye at the loyalhanna outflow this spring but havent been catching to many lately mostly catfish and sheepshead. I made 3 trips up to yough outflow this year and tried fishing for walleye and couldnt hook into any.

The Yough overflow is mostly Trout. It gets a lot of pressure because it is stocked.
