3rd attempt for salmon

Well I made my third attempt So far to catch a salmon this evening... Waters still on the bigger side. No fish seen or hooked... Fished in solitude. A few guys were out in town. Nothing hooked while I watched... Something tells me there's more fish mid river to upper river rather than the lower river at this point. Not saying there's a lot of fish though..and yes with this high water for so long it does seem too good to be true... . Keep it light fellas, it is panning out to be a typical salmon season. Have fun and be safe.

Yea I can remember some years we would be WELL into school before they would get here.

Hey Andy- lol- something tells me  there aint that many in yet- upper- mid or lower. Just an old fashioned normal year.
They gotta stage in the estuary fist and from what I saw and hear it aint that busy down there yet. Never saw one guy 'fishing' there or one swirl despite several trips in the past few weeks. HEARD stories bout them- but SAW nada.
Even if a dozen or so were here  and there that don't mean diddly spread out in  in da ribber.
Like you though- I'll keep on trying.
KWAZYYYY peoples.

Thanks, Andy. Much as I'd like to go, I'll wait a bit. I hope you find one, even if they are thin, yet.

Yup anytime charlie... Anyone getting in to fish has the time to zero in and once found they can track them from there and maybe get a little lucky... Trev I've seen some swirls and quite a few groups of folks fishing for fish off the rt. 3 bridge but zilch last night... I may get an evening effort tonight and a few efforts over the weekend... Could end up being an odd ball august for me with no fish to hand by September 1st... Hate it when that happens

Getting skunked on the water sure beats getting raped by ice frogs in negotiations . Wish I was there instead of here

Maybe this year Charlie we can share some water. Been tearing the bass up the past few weeks on the Hudson. Let me know if you want to hit some bass as a warm up.

Absolutely, Wayne. I got a  real nice smallie out of Fish Creek a few days ago. I've been catching lots of carp sightfishing behind Curtis Lumber. Been traveling to a job in Rexford, so I've been passing through Mechanicville and Stillwater. Will be for the next 2 months. We'll definitely plan something.  Can't wait to get a King or 'ho tearing some line out, though.   I think I have your number in my phone, but I'll pm you mine.
Oh yeah, Andy- 4th times the charm. We're all rooting for you.

Dime think your right about mid and upper river, I have been working at Selkirk all summer and one of the guys who works theres kid fishes a lot and has been doing good near short bridge since last Friday, water is a bit high for me and free time has been a big issue. Last week boats were so far out on the lake could barely see them from shore this week about a mile out and a lot of them. Reports say fish are getting larger, guess we shall see.
