Pymie at Night

Looking for feedback RE: the bug situation on Pymie at night. I have fished the stumps and at around 8:15 pm the bugs become nearly unbearable. I attribute that to the islands being very near. I was hoping that they would not be so bad a little south...like at Manning or Espyville. I'm not looking for spots....just info RE: the night bug situation away from Clark, Harris, Whaley islands. I would like to try some night fishing but would hate to make the 2 1/2 hour trip and be bugged all night. Any info will be appreciated.

    My last trip out after dark was about the same. Didn't bother me as much as the wife tho. Started at a little after 8 and by 9 she had enough

    I cover my light half way so they don,t attract as many

    Lol only when she out fishes me ;) we didn't even have a light on besides the boat lights. I think it was some kind of hatch because the night before they were not a factor at all

     I know what you mean. Been there when the hatch was so heavy, seemed to be fishing in a heavy snowfall. bugs gettin into every thing, ears eyes down collar, up pant legs. try not to pee, lol. funny tho, first time wife had to go. first scream scared the He77 out of me. then couldn,t stop laughing, fun ride home that nite.
