interesting find at Greenlick

While throwing jigs recently at Greenlick I got snagged(of course) but broke free & dragged in a rubber crayfish imitation that was bigger than my hand, the claws were as round as my thumb & it weighed approx. 6oz. I don't think you could even throw it from shore due to the bulk,I don't know if I want to catch anything that could eat that thing. lol  sam

Some plastic/rubber baits expand once they've been left in water a while.  I found this pic in another discussion of what a Senko will do when left to absorb water.

Chris, That is quite possible because the texture was not like anything that I have seen before. It still had a hook in it or I would have thought that it was a joke.  sam

Took a walk there and at Bridgeport on wednesday looking for close to shore carp with the flea pole. Have only fished greenlick a couple times before, but holy crap is it low compared to what I'm used to. No carp close enough to cast to, but a lot more shore line access than I'm used to there. I'll give it another try soon though because I did see some, just not quite close enough with the wind. More on topic, definitely swelled up from soaking in the water. They'll do that in a fishes stomach too.

Was at the lake to-nite,this week-ends storms got the water level back up to almost normal. The shoreline is mostly covered again for now.The boat ramp is usable again.  sam

Ya never know. Hogy makes an 8 in 4oz baby lobster softbait for saltwater. Haha might work good for a monster bass

Chris, You were right about that rubber crawfish,my buddy brought it with him to-nite & after it had dried out it shrunk to about 1/3 the size that it was when I found it. Who wudda thunk?  sam

It is amazing. I think it has something to do with density and allowing the bait to sink with as little weight as possible. Like FG said they do that within the fish's stomach. Thanks for the feedback.
