Tackle for River Fishing

Im pretty sure everyone has their own unique tactics/ways of fishing on the river. And different tackle as well. Is anyone willing to share or discuss their methods to catching river fish?

Varies greatly upon target species. What are you after?

I've only caught them as by-catch while walleye fishing in the winter and early spring. I don't really target them and have personally never caught one in the summer. Some guys here do a lot of musky fishing and maybe they'll chime in.

Really no secret, fish for them the same way you would in any other body of water. I catch them the same way in rivers as I do in lakes.

Go out and play around, let the water tell you what is working

Start casting Rap's and similar lures..........they work! Try different colors also.

Large plugs or large hairy spinnerbaits.  The larger the better.
