Sage GFL 476 DS Graphite II info

I just picked up an old Sage GFL 476 DS Graphite II NOS. Just holding it in my hand it feels like a really special rod. I grew up fishing the old American made Fenwick HMG rods but after breaking mine and having it replaced by a made in China pos that they make now I went in search of something hopefully somewhere close to my beloved old fenwick. So I found this rod. The serial number on the rod tube is 1007xx. I know that this is an early Sage but I'm thinking this might be a very very early one. I sent in the warranty card! They will probably get a chuckle when they get it. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone on this board or any of the sage aficionados can shade any light in this old gem. Is it possible that this is the 7xxth rod out if the series or out of the factory? Any thoughts on the rod itself or the crass question of its value? (I will likely never sell the rod and plan to keep it if it fishes like I think it will). Much thanks in advance for any info!
