greenlick,donegal,acme

Fished all 3 yesterday, weeds are coming on at Donegal & Acme with the lower end of Donegal having few weeds.Greenlick was pretty good with few weeds & few people all week.We have been doing pretty good on gills & small crappie. Seems like the spawn is pretty much over with few fish having eggs in them. Also the size is down from what we were catching earlier. Also the postspawn die-off is starting with some dead gills at Greenlick showing up. due to the low crowds & efforts by the cnty. to keep it clean, all 3 lakes looked better than ever. My main disapointment was that the bass were not co-operating on top-waters. The bass that I saw caught were caught on crawlers on the bottom.    sam

Thanks for the report. Those are my three favorite local lakes. I'd like to get out soon.

accountant, I couldn't tell you about the spawning bass. All that I can say is that this is the worst year that I have had in a while for topwater bites & bass sightings. There have been relatively few guys out for me to ask &  I have been going to different lakes a lot.  sam

Accountant, I was out Sat. evening & caught a nice L.M. on the first cast,It blewup before I could even close the bail.It had both trebles in the mouth. Well I should have put that rod away after that as I only got 2 gills on it after that. So I went back to the other rod with a jig & bobber to finish off catching gills & Crappie. No slabs  ,but fun anyway.BTW the water was perfect looking for top-waters,they just won't co-opperate YET.  sam
