A couple hundred yards above my "spot" at Portland Mills yesterday.

This photo is from on the first bridge, this is where Toby Creek comes in from the right from Brockway...

For comparison...

that is the same bridge and Toby Creek under it where the white XXs are in this photo.... this was in the early spring... and about NORMAL for that area

Take a look at the USGS stream gauge data for the whole state.  You would think the entire commonwealth was under water

    Doc--
This was the 3rd highest water level EVER RECORDED on the Clarion at Cooksburg, and only .15 off of Agnes in '72.  You guys must have had some rain Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Look on the bright side . . . water temps already lagging normal temps due to cold winter and cool spring . . . now washout will keep flow levels higher than normal well into June . . . cooler temps+decent flow = EXCELLENT early summer Trout and Smallie fishing on the Clarion.
    Enjoy!

Unless those trout & bass are stuck in mud puddles, in the woods, dead.  Or killed by chemical runoff from the flooding of the town of Ridgway.

Journeyed over to Portland Mills early this morning for some fishing. Water was a little high and colored but not too bad. I had a good 2.5 hours of fishing.
I caught 1 Brown Trout, 4 Brookies and landed 2 Smallmouths.
There was a fair amount of trash from the high water and flooding up river last week. But I did enjoy the time fishing and the trash really did not effect fishing. It did "stink" a little though.... LOL
