Ohio river action

How has everyones success rates been? I typically fish anywhere from underneath the 79 bridge by Groveton down to the big Sewickley creek mouth. The past week ive been seeing some active fish. Mostly smallmouth. A couple more weeks of warm weather and it will be on for all species

Have not fished the Ohio yet this year. Are you shore or boat fishing? I usually am in my boat, but being new to this area have had little success so far. If you are boat fishing, what launch ramps would you recommend?  Thanks in advance.

I do both. I do shore sometimes just because its quicker and easier when I I dont have much time in the evenings. I prefer from boat seeing that I just purchased my first boat last summer. Back to your question, you can launch in Leetsdale industrial park below the dashields dam giving you access to the dashields pool. I also like launching right by the Sewickley bridge on the Sewickley side giving access above the dashields dam. Ive had good success in those pools. I have yet to fish anywhere on the ohio but those two pools.

the launch in Ohioville is great, you can fish Beaver Creek and also fish from Montgomery Dam all the way to New Cumberland Dam. Good fishing in that pool as well! You could also join St.Joes Boat club in Potter TWP. and use their launch and fish Raccoon Creek as well as the Ohio
