Canonsburg Lake
My brother and I were trolling for trout on canonsburg this afternoon, When he had a fish on. after 20 minutes he finally brought it up to the surface. It was a 34 lb. 40" flathead catfish caught on 4# test line with a joe's fly. There is another pic on the door at Shad Lure in Elizabeth

Wow...that's all I can say catching a 34lb. catfish on a Joe fly!
The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.

You must have had a great knot on that Joe's fly.

Also He is getting a certificate from the fish commission for it being so large. All the c&r trout probably ended up in that fish's belly. Wonder how many more monsters are in there?

Thats cool. Hope he stocks that pond regularly. That fish could easily munch down some 1.5lb bass.

No kidding! Prepare for that pond to be quickly devoid of all bass under 20 inches & most of the bluegill. Hope his friend doesn't want fish in his pond.

The farm ponds (5 within short walk) 'round my house are way under fished. In the past when I would stock LARGE predator fish in 'em the fishin' only gets better. crappy

He tells me that the pond he put it in is about the size of a football field. There are already some big cats in there.
