So how many carp does a bow Fisher shoot in a day? 3? 50? How does a warden know when to deem it excessive if they're just shooting them, bringing them in and tossing the carcasses? I like carp fishing, but I've never fished there, as carp are everywhere and I prefer river and stream fishing for them. I know there's millions in there and the population won't be hurt. But a lot of people Wade fish there and stepping on a rotten carp can't be a pleasing experience. And it just seems wasteful and irresponsible.

Fished last Saturday all day and Sunday a half day.Targeted walleyes. Got 3 of them in 2 days. 2 legal. All were in 5-6 FOW on jig and crawler. Thank you to the bait shops for telling us to stay shallow. Fished snodgrass, campground point, and manning. Got 4 crappies on minnows, a few shallow and a few deep. Caught tons of catfish, bluegills, and dink perch. Also landed 4 smallies all around 10"

Killing for fun disgusts me, I don't care what species it is. You're taking a life for no reason. I guess incidents like this define the word "human" more and more these days.

Tend to agree with you unless you are talking about invasive species, which in reality, carp are. Would much rather see them put to some kind of use and put in the garden or at the very least, properly disposed of outside of the lake. Do you disagree with the bowfisherman who target the asian carp in the midwestern rivers?

Our ancestors are an invasive species, and look what happened to this country. In the winter on the Travel channel, I saw a chef prepare Asian carp for a restaurant in the midwest. The customers were unaware of what they were eating but loved it.

Wilhelm isn't dead, at least not yet, Captain. But, like many other PA. lakes, Wilhelm, suffers from a severe desease known as B-I-O-L-O-G-I-S-T.
This is the same desease that is destroying hunting in PA.
Fortunately, the fish commission replaced their director and the game commission just got rid of Carl Roe. Speaking of Roe every PA. hunter should be following this story as it's turning out to be one of the biggest scams (2nd to the kill off of deer) involving hunting. Last I read there may be as many as three of the commissioners being investigated concerning Roe's $220,000.00 buy out.
Sorry, back to fishing. Pymatuning was a concern regarding the walleyes a few years ago. The numbers and size droped dramatically but, that has since turned around. Wilhelm will too (I hope :-[).).
Happy fishing and rememember if you give a man a fish he will eat for a day; if you teach a man to fish he will eat everyday.

Hit some deeper water yesterday (7/17). Caught a number of sub legal 'eyes and oodles of perch....about 1 in 3 were keepers. Cats were gobbling everything up until about 10am, then they seemed to disappear...thankfully. Only one of the, roughly, 15 or so eyes were legal, that's been the opposite extreme from what we've been experiencing ( the ration of subs to legals ). Even managed a few nice crappies.

Pymatuning Reservoir Many anglers have expressed their lack of success this summer fishing for Walleye. This summer has been like previous years. When the water warms up the Walleye fishing slows way down. In years past anglers expected the Walleye to be on the bottom due to the warm water and had success fishing suspended up off the bottom. This might be the ticket to fill coolers again this year. Remember that riding on the bow of boats is no longer allowed. As an example, a pontoon boat moving at any speed must have all passengers within the passenger carrying compartment area.

Funny how the walleye seem to be about anywhere. Caught a small one in 16 ft. Bunch of catfish last 2 trips out and perch also basically everywhere.

Was out yesterday from sunrise till 3:30 in the afternoon. Trolled everything I had in 6-25fow and picked up 1 14 1/2" eye, 1 14" cat, 1 14" white bass, and a bunch of 6-8" perch. There is a TON of baitfish in the lake right now, the lowrance was loaded in all depths with big schools of bait. Can say it was fun catching fish, but definitely would have been nice to pick up a few good fish. Took a buddy out for the first time since February when he broke his ankle so at least we found something. Is anyone picking up anything? I haven't been out for a month or so with work so I really don't know if it's been this slow all summer or not. I figured with these temps and the lower water temps it would be better.
The worst day hunting or fishing will always be better then the best day at school or work!

Just read Darl Black's weekly fishing report and it has a report from Pymy of catching walleyes in 12 to 17ft on hot n tots. Said they also caught jumbo perch the size of erie's too. I'll try to paste a copy of his report here.
