mentored youth fishing days

I just read that that day( april 5th) in our section of the state has been changed to (may 10th ) I guess that the PF&BC decieded that the regs. are not confusing enough the way that they are. I think that that change defeats the purpose of the event. BTW the 2 lakes in our are that are closed on that day unless you have a kid with you are Mammoth & Lower Twin. These 2 only.  sam

Are you saying you cannot fish in regular season in the two lakes on May 10 unless you have a kid that you brought and is in the mentor program now that the date has been  rescheduled?

And they are going to add an additional stocking for that day according to the revised posting.

Don, this program only applies to The Lower Lake & Mammoth, according to the bulletin that is on their site no one will be allowed to fish either Mammoth Or Lower Twin from noon on Fri. to Sat.Morn. It says that both lakes will be stocked on Fri. (I am guessing ) on Sat. an adult will have to be accompanied by 1or more kids to fish either lake & only keep 2 trout each. They do not have the extra stocking listed yet on their site. Lloyd has more info.  sam

why would they change the dates anyway to after the regular opening day . I know they will say it because of the weather , but I agree it defeats he purpose of the program. this winter is unusual for what we have been having over the past years, frankly its long over due. I wonder how many tickets they will write on the 5th for people that don,t get the information on the change. do they always have to make things so complex ?
