Even with the fish being held out with the man's arms outstretched to the camera, an old photographer's trick to maximize the size of the fish, it's still a vey big fish. GOOD JOB!

That is a slab for Washington standards, great fish! Has to put on 5 pounds plus to compete with Tennessee state and World Record ganked from Old Hickory Lake here in TN. That record stands for 54 years, with contention I might add. On a side note TN also holds the world record small mouth bass record of 11lbs 15 ounces caught from Dale Hollow Lake. A 12 pound+ smallie was shocked and handled by KY Fish and Game in Laurel lake KY in 2012, to date it hasn't been caught.  I am by know means a record chaser, if I fool a fish into taking my junk and it makes my drag squeal I'm happy:) Congratulations to whoever landed that slob!

Great story sure would like to see some photos of those old record fish. I know cameras were not as popular but they did say there were photos. Always nice seeing the real thing. Did anyone see that record 5 lb. Blue Gill caught in Arizona ? Photos are on line somewhere plus a video with Al lynder holding it frozen . He didn't catch it just stopped in to check it out.
    Here's some info...... http://www.gameandfishmag.com/2011/06/03/new-world-record-sunfish/
