lower Twin Lakes

I went out for a while this afternoon approx. 3pm I was the only one on either lake at the time. The bite was very slow again, but the ice & weather were good. First 3" of ice was white & kind of soft ,but there was approx. 10-12 of ice where I was. Good day to be out but I don't like being alone on the ice & was surprised that there was no one else out.  sam

My buddy & I just came in from fishing the upper lake, we got a couple of Brownies ,but again very slow fishing. Ice was pretty good, about 8" +,but milky & very easy to drill through. No cracks or noise, but a little soft at the edges with the ice pulling back a little. Very surprised at how few guys were on the ice at either lake. Only 3 others on the upper & 1/2 doz. on the lower lake Ideal fishing cond. with overcast sky & very little wind.   sam

Fished Donegal yesterday, ice was fine.  Actually some of the best ice conditions of the season, 8-9" of ice, barely and slush on top of the ice.  Stopped past Keystone St Park earlier today, ice was good there but not a single person on it.  There was some open water where the road goes over by the beach.  Fished upper Twin today for a short while, like Sam said ice is still 8" thick.  Little bit of open water around the shoreline but still easy to get out onto the ice.
