I pmed twobob saying I'd be shocked if they don't bring it over 3 grand... what's scary is its just the beginning. North sandy has risen 4 feet in 12 hours... with it pouring rain tonight and 40's tomorrow... could get real ugly. But the 3500 bump may save us

I wanted to get up to the hill to see it. Guess its too late now. yesterday the snow by me was a foot lower than the day before... with spill gates opened it may hit 7k by tomorrow morning. Definitely not good. For Brookfield, I don't think they can really be blamed. A week ago there was barely any water anywhere from days in a row below 20 and constant snowing. I font think there was enough water for them to really let it out. The flow gauges on north sandy and north branch of salmon river are still ice bound. I really pray and hope its not too bad especially for the folks in Altmar and even in oneida. They got wiped earlier this year in oneida. It would be horrible to see it happen again

Is there a flow limit for drift boating?  I am scheduled to do a float trip the Friday after Christmas.

Hopefully by than flow will have receded. Be carefulNY Fishtales, Inc.
Flows have now exceeded station discharge capabilities and spill gates are now in use. River activities are extremely dangerous and unwise. Do not venture into the river until flows have receded.

I just got home from the North country .. The am ride was slick and icy.. Some passing showers through out the day but nothing major.. The 18' snow settled way down making the lake just a bit sloppy.. Solid 6-7" ice on the lake and it ain't going anywhere.. Expecting to deep freeze again by monday.. Many flags were chased and some decent pike hit the ice.. Fun day for sure, pics later..

While the river is not, the ice is nice :)

Hats off to Brookfield!!! This could've been a catastrophic event but they were on top of it without too drastic of an increase. They more or less matched the natural intake. The best I've seen to date.
The refreeze of last night definitely helped with a change back over to snow. Maybe some fishing is in store for the upcoming holiday!
Merry Christmas to all and for all a good night!

We will see what happens.  The snow must be packed down pretty good too.
