Bizzare foods Pittsburgh

Watched this episode on Travel Channel last night. They had a feature about night time catfishing at the Point behind PNC Park. If interested, it will be re-run on monday 11/18 at 8:00.

Thanks. I hope to catch the show.

I have fished flatheads from the shore around PNC Park a time or two. Always caught fish, although nothing I'd consider exceptional. Way too much ped. traffic for my liking.

Eman, I knew that was your club soon as I heard them mention the name I recognized it from the boards. I was a little ticked off over Andrew punching that catfish in the head. Grow up man. Other than that, it was pretty cool. Definately has me wanting to give catfishing a try down there.

I'm so mad I couldn't have been there for the taping. It was my first day of vacation in Florida. I've always loved his shows. I'm a huge fan. It was a good show. I'm definitely gonna go to that featured restaurant cure sometime soon.

Did you see they ate raw dry cured trout from laurel hill trout farm? Wonder what health risks were involved with that? Not quite sushi, but I always thought raw from fresh water was a no no.

Cure might be the best restaurant in the city.  Make a reservation, any night of the week, or you won't get a seat.

Its wide open. they were right on the walkway that goes behind PNC park. I've never fished there personally though and you might have to pay to park somewhere.

Im usually not one to complain about spot burning, and technically its not really a secret spot seeing as its right in front of pnc park...but the exact spot they fished was an extremely good spot for flats and one of the "never fails" spots to fish at. So nice to be able to catch a few fish, with a nice view and no one around...now every yinzer in town is gonna be casting chicken livers with their bass rods every night down there...next thing you know someone is going to publicly post the secret to getting down to the highland park dam...oh wait...that already happened lol

From what I heard. The crew from the show picked the area to fish. That just happens to be a good spot in that area.

I used to fish down there.  That was before the Stage AE was there & before you had to pay to park.  Now, with concerts most nights, & money to park, it's too much of an annoyance.  Used to be nobody around.  There are too many drunks asking you a bunch of dumb questions, like you're a circus act, after concerts these days.

Yup around 230 when the bars kick everyone out is when it gets bad down there. had a bunch of drunks picking up rocks and throwing them in for about 20 minutes...ive had a grown, drunk man play with my baitfish for 15 minutes becaue he wanted to "see what they felt like"...soo strange. definitely getting my permit to carry before I start going back down to areas like that late at night haha.

Yep.  I've never had a physical problem with anyone, or felt concerned for anyone's safety.  They are just so ****ed annoying.  It's funny the first time, then the 12-15th drunk asking you the same dumb question & looking at you like you're the idiot, gets old fast.

Snag, you are smart to carry. I don't mean to sound like some crazy but I have seen some of the strangest sites and people while fishing. I fish a small creek out here in the boonies and had some guys get a little mad that we were in their spot. They began firing rounds into the creek. After a few words were yelled upstream, they were persuaded into moving on. I just won a polymer judge at a gun bash so I have a new one to carry next year.
