Here is the report. Left the house this AM with the sun shining. Got 1/2 way up and decided to turn around because I forgot my rain coat. Good choice!!!! Stopped at Pineville to pick up some line to make leaders with because I was out 10lb. Went down to my favorite spot and it was empty. I worked that spot like you read about without even a trace. When walking back I looked into spot where a little pizz trickle comes in. I saw a few fish milling around and went over to check them out. I thought they were a few ho's or zombie kings. There were no fewer than 6 browns milling around in there and one was a monster and he was beat up at that. Tried floating a few flies by them. I could literally drop a fly on their heads. No takes, left them in peace. I guess they were in their resting. Hit another spot and it was the same a few people here and there, but not even a sniff of a bite. Stopped off at the wall and fished there for a hour or so. Saw 2 fish on and they were way up. It was rainy, windy and the fish were just not ready to bite. I am sure they were there, just not interested. Too close to the water drop I guess. Next weekend I will hit it again. I probably should have went back up where I was yesterday, but just did not feel like the drive, Listen to me complaining about a 40 minute drive. Bad news is my neck is really acting up and now my arm is feeling with pins and needles sometimes. I have been fighting pain in the shoulder from the neck for a few years, but this is far worse, move the neck just right an a shot of electric down into the hand. Going to give it another week or 2 and then off to the doc's to get my options. Probably start with a shot, but I have a feeling that surgery is in my near future. Will try to wait until spring at least because I cannot be layed up over the winter with the snow removal, but time will tell. I would be out of commission for 4 to 8 weeks

I am no doctor though I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express (Batavia, NY)....I had the same thing 12 years ago....It was a vertebrae impingement at C7....It did improve completely, though it took several months.

Good report Clint as always . I'm a Dr. of sorts lmao and from my experience. It sucks getting old. My hamstring hurts, my back hurts and who knows what else. Being a lazy heavy equipment operator forced to shovel and labor work ain't being kind.I am always active at home but its still not the same . Thankfully walking , in and on water , woods helps. Get well , a zing from a chromer might help too.

Jim I have a buldging disc at c 5 c 6 been fighting it for 4 or 5 years now. Mostly shoulder pain, but this is new. I could deal with the pain as it waxed and waned but I cannot deal with this burning tingling stuff. I do hope it quiets own on it's own though. Realistically though I am going to look into at getting it fixed because I should do it not when I am fairly young and before it gets worse. It would be the same surgery Peyton Manning had.

Well I just watched Peyton play another masterful game. So I hope the results are the same for you, Clint. I also hope the shot alleviates the pain until you decide to have the more permanent fix. Thanks again for the report. I live with lots of aches and pains from a life of hard labor, but nothing like that. Makes me grateful for my luck. I would have liked to seen the brownies. I'm hoping for some in the SR, without having to drive farther out to O.O. Oh yeah, way up is the spot to be so far this year. Next time I'm heading up there. Tough wading and landing fish but....fish to be had.

Clint I go through the same thing at least once a year. I go to the chiropractor and get fixed if i went all the time i probably wouldnt have it reaccuring. You have to be a little trusting though when they are twisting your neck but it always relieves the pain. On another note I was hopeing to be up there today and tomorrow but on Saturday I had to get some stitches in my thump so I'm on the DL for a bit hopefully next week.

As HT says, this getting old definitely has its down side. I will say that although all the casting thjis fall is doing nothing for the Arthritis in the shoulders and arms, all the walking with leg weights has me feeling overall better than I have all year. We'll pray that what is ailing you is minor and can be worked out without the knife, Clint. I would hate to see an end to the insightful and honest reports you have been providing. As to missing the remainder of the season, if it is any consolation, the water will harden soon, and jigging does not involve as much arm! L13

Getting older with all its aches and pains is still better than the alternative. Clint- hope it works out for the best.

Wayne I go to the chiro once a month and that is to say alot being in the Physical therapy field where generally those in my profession do not "believe" in them. This has been only going on for a week and a day so I will try to ride it out a bit. I will do my exercises, get in my home traction unit and hope for the best. I almost have to ride it out until the spring unless it gets super bad due to snow removal and of course of fishing. Would get it done in the early summer and the Doc says really only 2 weeks of being extremely limited and then 4 after of just taking it easy and nothing easier than jigging on Oneida. We are limited to 5 days off in the summer so this is a way to get kind of stick it to the management where I work. Will probably try a shot first too, but in reality I see myself needing this surgery at some point so time will tell.

If it gets too bad , Clint, if you hook a steel you can just hand the rod to me. I'll make the sacrifice. Actually, I threw a prayer in with Lucky's.

Young at heart that's what keeps me pumping . Charlie, I actually had a full cast on my left ( reel ) hand / arm one Nov. I caught a bunch of chrome on sacs in the tail of the black and handed the rod to my dad to fight em' . great memory of a proud son. He let me catch them. Criteria 1983.. Another SR injury related that kept me on the water was tendentious from splitting 20 cord per year. Bought a Spey just so I could cast , got better , Spey went away ;)

PS I got some sort of plate in my left shoulder a few years ago because it was supposed to make things better. First surgery beside appendix when I was 10.. If this is better I often wonder what the non surgery might have been. Now it is almost impossible for me to carry a gear pack up a mountain .

HT, I can help with gear choice to lighten your pack by many pounds, I've got mega extra high tech gear to lend, too. At worst I'll go in with you this spring, I can still mule, and got the huge external frame I hauled mine and buddies' climbing rope and racks on. Ever fish Fifteenth Lake? I carried Nanc's load and mine up 2500' the first day on the trail in the Sierra. She had altitude sickness and couldn't do it the first day. I remember you fighting salmon with that plate just about popping out of your shoulder.
