Water is cooling down, walleye heating up....

Went down to the ohio river today, got there later than I hoped (thanks time change)... All in all got 13 fish. 1 smallie, 1 striper and the rest all walleye. All were keepers, but I practice catch and release so they are all back alive and well after a few photo ops of the better ones.

Nice work srl!  Thanks for sharing the pics.

Have never caught an 'eye in my life before.  Keep telling myself every fall that I'm gonna figure out how to do it on the Allegheny and never do.  Looks like it's time to get back on that.

Just drag a big minnow on a jig. Easy as pie. I like cloudy/rainy/snowy days.

Awesome haul.  Too bad they stopped the hybrid stocking in the rivers.  Probably only a few more years until they disappear.  Much more fun to catch than the logeyes, IMO, unless going on the table...

Wow hogs. Can I ask what general area on the Ohio?

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.

Thanks guys -  I moved here from TX in 2011 so I dont have a ton of experience landing toothy fish, but its been a blast so far!  As far as hybrids go, I grew up catching them down south, so even though they are a ton of fun, they arent anything new to me.

I was using a minnow on a circle hook with a split shot and egg sinker on the bottom; the current was making it tough for jigging. It was surprising to me how well the fishing was that day.. afterall, it was a nice day for me to be outside; it seems like the fishing is the best when I am miserable lol.

I tend to hit the Ohio river out towards Beaver, PA.
