I'll be up on that Th.and  Fri.  Save me a few steel!.  Gonna call SH about reserving a room. HT is going, but I'm coming up with my wife, too, so coming in separate vehicle. Can't wait.  I'll probably go next Sat. on a suicide run, but it ain't the same alone. It'll be good to share some water. Clint, my bday is the 29th but I'm delaying to the end of the week.  It'd be great to fish with you on the 2nd.

Couldn't get hold of   them and they didn't return message so I got a spot at Stoney's.  On the treed knoll in the back by the fishermen's path.  I'll just meet up with you guys . Opens another option to fish, too...

You guys are killing me with all the talk of getting up there.    I will not attempt until it gets cold and the circus thins a little.  Maybe 2nd week of November. If I can wait that long... everyone have a safe and fun trip ...

Yeah I know. I have been going up since 1992  and every year is more and more crowded , but usually start mid November and finish up end of Feb.  I like the worse weather possible. But as I get older it is getting more difficult    but it is what it is.

Went by Brenda's yesterday, and there is a new sign, Mad River Motel, and they had a vacancy sign out.  But of course much of the circus had left town (Trout Creek lots were still pretty full, (Uum Uum, that's good salmon!), and the needle was pretty well threaded, but quite a few empty or nearly empty lots.

Lucky, I think it reads MID, rather than crazy Mad - though how fitting?
That's what the new fellow Mike named it last year, anyway. Mid River is pretty appropriate, but maybe he changed it to be even more so.

Yes mid river motel. I stayed there a few nights this past season. Gentleman named Mike owns it now didnt catch his last name real nice guy he guides the river also and runs so pretty good deals. I know Brenda's got alot of bad press but to tell you the truth I never had anything bad to say about it. Always clean towels clean room. I go there to fish not hang out at the motel. Just my 2 cents. If your in need of lodging give him a try.

I stayed at Brenda's many times and only issue was waking up sweating my azz off but no complaints there.
Mike said last year he was keeping the rates in line of what they were.
Don't know what Brenda charged during salmon season as I only motel in the winter and her rates were $20. Pp .
Friends stayed at mid river this fall and it was $50. Pp

I thought I read mad, but I'm not known for good eyesight (except for fish in the water), or hearing, or legs!  The main feeder to the North Branch of the Salmon is the Mad River, named for its attitude when carrying off the 18+ foot snowpack of the Tug Hill during  spring runoff, so I guess the error was understandable.
