Rain??!!!

Next Wednesday will be the first day of my fall trip this year. I don't know if it's the pumking beer playing tricks on me but it looks like the gauges are on the climb. I've been watching the weather and flow last few days and honestly wasn't feeling great about the trip. One of you local boys do me a favor and take a peek at the elk or walnut tomorrow and report back. I'd cry tears of joy if this rain brought some fresh steelballs into the streams :)

there are already steelhead i the streams.  Need rain to move them up and provide flow.  Forecast looks good to get the creeks wet, hopefully a blowout.  By next wednesday it should be prime.

Yeah I know there are some there from the reports, from what I gather they are pretty pooled up and spooked though right?

Yep.  A little tight lipped but still catchable.  If it is low and clear early morning or dusk would be better.

What is this "rain" you guys speak of? Never heard of it....

So Walnut peaked at 40cfs, and now it's down to 23. I fished an Ohio trib the other day and caught a couple, but it was dreadfully low(though still had twice as much water as Elk) and fishing was tough as expected.

Good to see you today, fisherofmen. I went out around dusk when the water had peaked from the rain. It came up and colored pretty quick, but already headed down. That being said, there are fish to be had.

Water is ungodly low. Yeah there are fish but uber spooky. There are SOME fish but not many.

Funny how reports vary by person. A recent report shows a ton of fish yesterday, yet many say fish are few and far between.

there are fish not epic amounts but a okay amout cant wait till we get more rain to see what it brings in. Lots of bigger browns this year too.

Some weather stations calling for decent rain Sunday. I've only timed an"epic" run twice in the last 7 years. I'm starting to get fired up for next week

When those last posts where written, there was very little water in the creeks. It rained all night, now there up and muddy, 2 days from now they will be low and clear again, you better make a move and ka mup.

The Lord has blessed us all today... It's just that he has been particularly good to me.

Fish are still there will just need to work harder to get them to strike. Good luck, if I wasnt busy with work I would have used up some vaca days to stay today and tuesday. Dont be scared to explore the creeks.

    Thanks man.
