Pymie is a ghost town! And I'm loving it!

Where are all the fishermen at?  Not at Pymie!  Can't really understand why.  The fishing is good if you know where to go.  Stopped at a couple different shops to find out some skinny, and one guy's info was more helpful (and more personable) than the other's.    But whatever!  LOL

2 guys in the boat today equaled two limits of walleye in 16' - 18' of water.  Caught most of them trolling Berkley Flicker Shads and Lindy Shadlings.  Caught a couple on harnesses.  Every one caught on a floating jighead was too small.  Caught a couple small ones in about 22' on Cicadas.

A few crappie in 10' - 12' where it drops off to deeper water.  Jighead and minnow and cicadas.

Caught a few dink perch.

That's a great report. Thanks for sharing. I need a day like that!

Nice post Sprint219! That's what sick days are for - to call off work and go fishing! To answer your question, one possible reason for the shortage of people at Pyme is that the crowds typically dwindle after Labor Day and as September progresses into fall you'll see less and less of them.

I must have held my mouth wrong because all I managed was crappie and perch.
And chauncy....who really knows his stuff ...only managed a few small crappie.
But that was on Sunday. I need some one that catches limits of walleye and 100 trout to teach me how to fish all over again. Dang I suck at it any more!

I'd be very resentful to say the least if I was forced to work those hours for a week Slab. Not attempting to top your story: I remember when I worked 60/week for 2 years solid. That was different though because I volunteered to do it [only because I was tempted with an insane amount of money]. Still ... I was very miserable, cranky and didn't sleep well at all. That was 9 years ago and it still has long lasting health implications which will never go away. Would I do it again ? Absolutely not, it really wasn't worth it in the end, but at the time it seemed like it was more than worth it. As they say, when one has their health, they have everything. That's sooo true and even though I knew better at the time, I had to be reminded of learning that lesson the hard way.

Hit the south end bright and early Friday morning for a few hours before the rain moved in.  First stop we made marked a huge school of fish suspended in about 15ft of water, but they had lockjaw.  Threw everything we had at them with no takers.  Picked up a few fish in the second spot we drifted about 8-10ft of water.  Mostly perch, with on decent sized channel cat.  Saw the rain comming, and took off just in time.  Was one windy azz morning!

Good idea John. The crappie bite is good on shenango but lots of 7 to 8" fish are being caught.

Gave Pymie a shot Saturday ....."ghost town" is right.  Even the fish have left town. All I caught were some spotted tail bait fish, small Perch, 3 small Cat Fish and 1 small Crappie.

Other than that ...It was a beautiful day to be out enjoying Mother Nature and seeing the gifts our "Father" aka God has blessed us with.

We'll keep trying.... Oct./Nov.  are suppose to be good Perch catching months.....or so I hear.

We fished yesterday out Manning, and had some what the same results. We caught a few nice gills and a couple of 6 inch perch for the day. The water temp is coming down, it was 62 to 64 around the upper end of the lake

Anybody been having any luck lately.  I've never fished the south end much, but I've been giving it a pretty good effort this year.  Been out 3 times in the past 2 weeks, with nothing but a few channel cats to show for it.  Might give conneaut a shot this weekend.

When John says junk, he means junk.  Last time out he caught some kind of metal fishing rig and the time before he caught a pole and Mitchel 300 reel with a broken handle that was down there for about 15 yrs

We have no problem catching walleye!  Berkley Flicker Shads, Lindy Shadlings, floating jigheads and Walleye Wizards have been VERY productive for us.  We have even caught some crappie and perch while dragging those baits around.  Most of our fish have come from the Orchard to Snodgrass area.  And that has been over the past two weeks!

Hammered walleye again today!  I think we saw two other boats ALL DAY.  Can't understand why people aren't fishing.  I hear people complaining that they don't catch any fish.  NOW I know why.  It's because they don't go fishing!

Nope.  We only take pics of the BIG fish.  Everyone has seen a 20" walleye, a 10" perch and a 13" crappie.  Sorry!  I can post a pic of all the fillets in the freezer, if that will help?  I am always more than happy to tell how and what we are catching them and at what depth, but we have put our time in on the lake and prefer to keep some things to ourselves.  As most everyone does.  Because I know how forums can get with "spot burning".

Taking and posting a pic takes precious little time when compared to all the time that goes in to preparing, fishing, unloading, filleting, packaging, freezing, then logging on and posting about it. Just saying!

Don't need to post pics to tell everyone the success we have had!  I could just go back to not posting what we are catching and what depth.

    Just sayin'
