Whitsett

Does anyone know why the guy in Whitsett blocked off and posted the little parking lot? I know its his property and his right as a property owner to do so but I have been parking there for years.

    I live in Smithton and never even knew there was a place like that to park. It sucks when you lose access. Probably caused by some **shole.

    I went down to that same spot to fish two weekends ago to find the lot blocked off and posted. I've talked to the land owner several times in the past when he was out cutting his grass. Really nice guy. He told me numerous stories of people leaving cans,bottles and variuos garbage items in parking area, yard and down along the shoreline. He also confronted different people about leaving trash and they really gave him a hard time. I'm sure that's the reason the area is now posted. It's a shame because that was one of my favorite areas to wade fish. Can't blame the guy.

    Thats really a shame, and I have noticed the usual kinds of trash there in the past-empty cans, candy wrappers, bait containers, etc.  That stretch of water is productive, and pretty.  I was always very envious of that landowner because that location is lovely.

    is this the lot at the north end of town right by the trail?
