favorite body of water??
would like to hear where some of you guys like to fish. the forums been pretty slow lately so i figured i would just throw something out there. personally my favorite spot is slippery rock creek. i love how you can catch so many different species out of it and also how close it is to home. it is also a beautiful area and usually pretty desolate.

Count me in for Pymatuning as well. Big to jumbo perch, ginormous crappies in late April to mid May... and in bunches. Also, its a quality Walleye lake, and that's the biggest draw...knowing that you can catch a nice eye on any given cast.

Tried pymatuning once about a month ago and caught 3 tiny perch.. Not on my immediate list of places to try again.
I like the Ohio river, tons if potential and rarely get skunked. Plus you never know what may be around there, keeps it interesting.

My favorite is the ocean, but too far away. Most fish caught are good eating, and every so often hook into something 50lbs that can rip off 200 yards of line in 20 seconds.
Locally, Arthur, because of the wipers. If Pymie were the same distance, I'd give up the occasional wiper for the larger and more abondant panfish, walleye and smallmouth. If I had the boat for it, Erie would kick either of their butts.
Nice wiper BTW. They are fun.

Though I have only fished it a few times but the Allegheny from Lock 3 north is mine. You can catch just about anything, even saw pics of a few Rainbows accidently caught.

Not counting Erie I'd have to say the Allegheny River near Ford City/Kittanning... Followed closely by Shenango River and Conemaugh River...

I guess it all depends on what you like to fish for. Walleye is my favorite fish to catch so Pymy would be my favorite lake in that regard. Smallies are next on my list so the Yough is 2nd in that regard.

I used to like Edinboro Lake. It has been about 16 years since I fished it though. Don't know what it is like anymore.

Can't say I really have a favorite. It all depends on the time of year and what I feel like fishing for. But its hard to beat the 3 rivers for variety and year round action.

Raccoon Creek - Beaver County - Very close second is Neshannok in Lawrence Co. - the more I fish there the more I like it.

Overall- Pymatuning. Close to home, no seasonal regulations. Walleye in the spring and fall for me as well as crappie and perch. I can catch them in the summer, but really don't like summertime fishing in general. And of course there's muskie and also ice fishing, although that is a limited time thing because of widely fluctuating temps and safe ice. It seems to get shorter all the time. srl135: "Tried Pymatuning once about a month ago and caught 3 tiny perch. Not on my immediate list of places to try again". You mentioned liking the Ohio River. If that happened on the Ohio, would you go back? My point of course is that you have to give any place more than one try. Anywhere can be an unproductive day at any given time. For all of the fishermen [and women] that go to Pyme, it can't be a bad spot.
