Flatheads and cold nights

Looking at forecast and quite a few days ahead of lows in 50's for night time temps.  High pressure but warm days.  Been a couple of years for me and cats since having twins but Im able to get out this weekend.  I don't remember doing well in this type of weather.  Anyone else see a downturn in the fishing or will you keep on plugging away?  Any different approaches?

Any more I go whenever I can. My trips are too infrequent to really develop a pattern. Only thing I've noticed other than real cold water is that I never seem to do any good with a real bright moon. Others have disagreed with me on this though. Just go and enjoy it. P.s. Throwing one rod out for carp has helped me beat the skunk on a few trips the last couple years.

this cool down isn't enough to put a damper on the fishing especially on the rivers.  i've caught plenty of cats/carp on nights where i needed a fire to keep warm.  i'm in agreement though that i've never done good at night catfishing when there is a bright moon.

if you would check the water temps, they probably realy haven changed much just because the air temp did. ive kot them on cold nites, but the brite moon will definetly shut them down.

What is the reason for the moon shutting them down? I have never heard that and I am curious if anyone has ever the answer.

moonlight prob gives prey a good look at whats comin and gives em time to run but it should also light up the so called dumbass on ur hook lol...soooo you would think it would be better unless the hunter (flathead) is seasoned enough to know he's disadvantaged and just chills till the light goes out again sooner or later
