i havent even been out Eman.  I took a job working out of state 5 days a week.  I am only home on the weekends.  I know there are some in my spots but they are tough to get to because of all this rain.  I should have a 2 week break coming up soon and i will land some on shore

There are so many snappers at Moraine State Park that spot burning shouldn't be an issue, but still, one never knows. Andyh01, those are really nice specimens! What are their weights? The ones in the bottom two pictures look like they're big. I know they're not, but they remind me of Alligator Snappers. Good job and congrats on a fine catch! ! ! McGinnis Sisters sells turtle soup at a fair price and it's very good.

?????? I don't know why not bcain. The meat is soft and has a unique taste, not gamey. Is it a texture thing, is it because you know it's a turtle and they're not generally considered common table fare amongst the greater % of the population and as such you consider it gross or.....? Just curious as to why "there is no way" you could eat turtle soup.

I think it is just because it is a turtle. I have eaten frog legs because someone told me I wouldn't. I can honestly say they were good but, I'd never do it again. I get grossed out easily so I doubt I will ever eat that stuff again.

Lol...I can identify with that feeling when it comes to sushi. I think my love of turtle is because my first experiences in eating it were at a New Orleans style restaurant, and they were skilled in the preparation. 'Course, I'm pretty daring when it comes to trying new things. My only caveat (normally) is that it be prepared safely.

I know that's hypocritical when it comes to sushi (did you know that Wasabi is served with sushi because chefs recognized that those who ate wasabi with sushi got fewer parasites? Not no parasites mind you, but fewer), but heck, put it on a grill over some hardwood charcoal and I'd try almost anything. 8-)

I have and will try just about anything other than things that may be dangerous and reproductive organs (not about to eat mountain oysters). I hate sushi. I have tried frog legs and they are good but, probably wont be eating them any time soon. I probably would try turtle if someone actually handed me a piece that was already cooked. I even quit hunting years ago because I am not a fan of anything that you can hunt with the exception of a few game birds. Pheasant, grouse. turkey and duck I like. In my opinion, nothing is better than Walleye.

I can understand not wanting to eat anything that isn't considered the norm in any particular society and also understand not liking something that isn't the norm in a culture. Vegamite for instance. I've never had it and would try it. From what I've heard, unless you're Australian, you probably wouldn't like it. Peanut butter taste nasty to an informal taste test done in Japan. They hated it. I do eat turtle soup and frog legs. I'll harvest the frog's myself, but not turtles only because I enjoy them as pets. I love sushi, sashimi and also raw shellfish. I'd try mountain oysters, but don't tell me that first, lol! As a matter of fact, I don't want to know what anything is until I've swallowed it. Didn't know that about the wasabi Luvinbluegills, THANKS!
