CAUTION!!!

There is a big debris line just out of the Walnut Creek channel. Big logs and a lot of junk.

Be safe.

Actually Billy. It was two weeks ago. Weather was perfect channel was shallow. Thanks for the excellent advice of using common sense and not launching out of the only launch on the west side. I know they cant conyrol the weather but they CAN provide an adequate launch. Oh yeah. Keep checking your PMs. I'll get right on telling you what our program for the three man limit yesterday.

This is probably the dumbest fishing web site on the net. I don't even know why I continue to read these stupid threads.

9 out of 10 threads tanks the moment Willy H replys. I need to just stop wasting my time and just read the Ohio boards. This site is a waste of time anymore......

Go ahead and tell me good by Willy.

At a spot on the lake where I throw spoons off some rocks you can tell where the old water line is and it's a good 3-1/2 to 4 feet low.

there was a segment on the news last week depicting the problems incurred with the lowering water levels in lakes superior, huron and michigan.  there was also cause for concern according to shipping companies.  it stands to reason that erie and ontario would also see these problems.

How can the lakes be low with global warming melting all those glaciers?

We launched out of conny all weekend. It is nice having a big safe harbor to come into whenever the waves kicked up instead of running 30mph into a narrow channel that might not be deep enough! lol  But anyway the harbor was muddy, but the lake was pretty clear as soon as you went past the break walls.  There was no large logs or debris that I could see in the harbor, but I talked to a guy who said to watch out if you go east of the harbor because the currents pulled all the debris east of the harbor.  So any of you guys running down to the border keep an eye open.

Saturday walnut was a roaring rapids when I went out at 2pm, when I came back in between 7-8pm it was back to normal. Lot of the debris was just floatin to the west outside the break wall hovering there.

    Is this is it?
Here is from this link: http://www.alcheminc.com/asht.html

But I think they mistook Raccoon Creek for Crooked Creek.

114 Crooked Creek Artifact: This consists of wood planking approximately 40' long and 10' wide and may be decking from the Ohio, Chesapeake, John F Porter, or F.A. Georger. It was discovered recently by Bob Carlberg in about 15 feet of water and about 50 to 60 yards offshore, 200 yards East of the mouth of Crooked Creek in a small cove. Crooked Creek is on the Pennsylvania side of the Ohio/Pennsylvania border. We have no further information.

maybe the Marquette & Bessemer, last seen anchored off conny and headed west into oblivion...

It's quite a story. Headed west, then they think east to get out of the weather. Pretty sizable ship too.

I think so .. It was not a huge vessel but the anchor chain was pretty large roughly 4-5 " links. After I came across this I would snorkel out and some years it would be covered in gravel sometimes not ? Out off Egley Park there is an old pipe and large stone structure that was a railroad pump station used to pump water up to the tracks for the steam engines . I liked to grab the big channel cats out from under the boulders and swim them to shore for my kids to look at then let em go.
