Looking for a good fishing spot, please help!

Like someone else said. You could walk the Trail that follows the Youghiogheny River. Park at the Smithton Pa access point and follow the river upstream. Lots of nice smallies, walleye, muskie and I am sure a few other species that I am forgetting. Nice path to walk and I am sure you could find some places to camp off to the side. Lot of good fishing in this river.

Go to the website. Just type in Greater Allegheny Passage. Go under camping and it will tell you the places that you are allowed to camp. There is a place in West Newton that you can camp. It also lists Hazelbakers has some primitive camping which is a very nice section of river. Also in Cedar Creek park. Just go to their site. Very informative. the site is www.atatrail.org. Lots of good fishing from Ohiopyle down. The trail makes access to the river nice.
 
P.S. I ride atvs at a slate dump along the Yough and there is always people camping along the river. Even in places that there isn't a designated camping spot, people just find a spot along the river that is suitable and camp. There was someone camping today along the river bank when I was riding my atv. Hope you give it a try. Its a decent river.
